The name Zarda is derived from the Persian and Urdu term "Zard" meaning yellow. The dish gets its name as it is prepared using yellow color.   4. Now heat up some oil and add rice to it layer it up with sugar and add nuts now add some more rice layer it up with sugar and nuts and keep it on low flame until sugar is melted.
  5. Now mix the rice and serve. Delicious to taste.
